About Oxygen

Oxygen is a colourless, odourless, non-flammable gas that actively supports and accelerates combustion. Supplied compressed at high pressure in steel cylinders, industrial-grade oxygen is essential across welding and cutting, healthcare, metal fabrication, and water treatment. APAC Gas oxygen is certified to 99.99% purity and complies with Australian Standards for industrial and medical-grade applications.

⚠ Main Hazards

  • Oxidiser — supports and dramatically accelerates the combustion of almost all materials, including metals, oils, and clothing.
  • Violent reaction with hydrocarbons — never use oil, grease, or petroleum-based lubricants on cylinder valves, regulators, or fittings.
  • Oxygen-enriched atmospheres above 23.5% greatly increase fire risk; ensure adequate ventilation in enclosed spaces.
  • High pressure stored energy — cylinder rupture or projectile hazard if valve is damaged. Always transport upright with valve cap fitted.
