About APAC 07

APAC 07 is an argon/oxygen blend with 7% oxygen for spray-transfer MIG welding of carbon steel. The relatively high oxygen addition energises the arc and increases weld-pool fluidity, producing deep penetration and flat, well-tied-in beads on heavier sections. It suits higher-current single- and multi-pass work on structural and general fabrication steel where productivity and penetration are the priority.

APAC 07 is supplied in E-size and G-size cylinders, charged to 19,000 kPa with an AS 2473 Type 10 outlet, and delivered across Melbourne. Compare the full welding range →

⚠ Main Hazards

  • Simple asphyxiant — the argon, CO₂ and oxygen in this mixture are heavier than air and can pool in pits, trenches and low or confined spaces, displacing breathable oxygen with no warning.
  • No warning properties — colourless, odourless and tasteless. The gas cannot be detected by human senses at dangerous concentrations.
  • High-pressure stored energy — cylinders are charged to 19,000 kPa. Secure cylinders upright, fit the valve cap for transport and inspect the valve before use.
  • Rapid release of gas can cause cold burns to skin or eyes on contact with escaping gas, valves or regulators.
